We invited Master Sken to teach at our club on Wednesday the 16th of June. This was a Muay Thai masterclass by Master Sken who is respected world wide for his Muay Thai and coaching skills. This was a rare opportunity not to be missed - there is so much which could be said about Master Sken that a short paragraph would not do justice to his contribution to martial arts, therefore to find out more information on this legend please visit his website: www.mastersken.com
A full write up of the event is available here:

'Proud student Esther Smith with Master Sken after the FFMA Muay Thai Masterclass 16th of June 2010 - we love you Esther'
We had our first ever club fight night last Friday the 21st of May with all the proceeds going to Huntingdon’s association charity ( http://www.hda.org.uk ) It was a no Gi grappling competition with no striking; each round consisted of 4 minutes from a stand up position with a submission required for a win. There where 2 weight categories; (1) below 85kg and (2) 85kg and above. Mark Woodard was referee with corner men Mark Collet and Chris Watts. Steve Griffiths was fight announcer and time keeper for the event.

It was a huge success and we collected nearly £500 for HD. We also attracted many new potential FFMA students who enjoyed watching the event. We had excellent attendance by fighters and spectators. We want to take this opportunity to thank all you fighters as many of you had only been training a few weeks or months and yet you all stepped up the plate with no excuses (and you had no idea of who you be matched against). That takes courage that can only be proven by turning up and going on the mat as tough talk is cheap. We are proud of every single one of you. We felt sorry for Stu Borley and Roger Gilbert who had to pull out at the last minute due to injury (there will be another time so don’t worry). We would also like to thank the spectators as you also made this a great event with your cheering, generosity and sporting spirit. These events are all about supporting the people that need it – that is people like the sufferers of HD as they are the ones fighting 24/7, it is not about any single individual, therefore it is important that we all do our best to turn up and fight or at least attend such events in the future. We have been overwhelmed with requests to hold the event again therefore we will let you all know when the next one will take place. This notification and the attached results will be followed by an article that my wife Jenny will write about the fight night and some nice photos. Tony Cross’s father also videoed every fight (should you want to see your fight) - I know I don’t want to see mine with James Lloyd as he beat me (I will get my own back on you in class next week James!)
Jenny Terranova has also written an article about the event in aid of the Huntingdon’s Charity:
